The Client Goal

Beyond being a popular search engine, Bing has positioned itself as a leader when it comes to using data to tell a deeper story. Tools like Bing Predicts, SEO Reports, and Bing Adcenter showcase this side of the search engine in-depth. To further their thought leadership, Bing approached us looking for an interactive design that would shed light on holiday retail spending, pulling from both public sources and proprietary Bing search data.

The Solution

While implementing the Bing color palette and iconography, we developed an experience that displays holiday spending in total and by category. The costs add up in an animated ticker, which can be fast-forwarded to the final spending numbers by clicking the “Show Totals” button. Bing search data is spread throughout the interactive content as well, to showcase the correlations between spending and browsing.
