The Client Goal
Outdoors retailer REI Co-op, with locations all across the nation, is a staple in the Seattle area where it was founded. We’ve had the opportunity to work with them on several unique projects ranging from camping tips to giving back to their community. While the REI brand can stand up to many visual approaches, their essence as a company had to shine through across all visual content — designs must be bold, succinct, and relatably human.
The Solution
Since each project we’ve done for REI came with a unique set of goals and a unique aesthetic, we were excited to have the opportunity to reinvent our approach every time. Whether based in photos, a hand-drawn feel, or a retro illustration, the different visual facets of REI’s brand each get a chance to shine while echoing their approachable voice throughout. We’ve created brochures, posters, and web-based designs that share advice, co-op accomplishments, and much more with REI’s loyal audience and continue to partner with them on projects whenever a need arises.
