The Client Goal
Nikon came to us looking for a series of slides that would provide quick and easy tips for capturing better wedding photographs. The goal was to create a useful guide for those new to DSLR photography that also highlighted several of the company’s lens offerings. Each section needed to feature a different aspect of a wedding, with tailored advice — the bride’s entrance, the ceremony, the couple’s first dance, and cutting the cake. Aesthetically, the piece needed to cohere with a previous Nikon project we developed.
The Solution
The style we’d already developed for Nikon included realistic illustrations of the company’s camera equipment, clean and simple data visualizations, and an emphasis on their brand shade of yellow. We retained all these elements, and added some simple line art to convey the subject of each slide/tip in an artful way. To ensure that instructions concerning specific camera settings couldn’t be misinterpreted, we used exact representations of buttons and icons found on Nikon DSLRs. Our client had high expectations, but in the end they felt we’d managed to exceed those expectations.
