The Client Goal
Solid Ground is an organization that helps those in need secure the services they require most, such as housing, transportation, and food. Due to a growing demand for their assistance, they hold an annual fundraiser, which has allowed them to continue improving Seattle for 40 years. During their 39th fundraiser, they worked with us to create a motion graphic that would appeal to attendees and encourage them to pledge their support. That 2-minute animation was such a success that they returned to us in 2014 with the same need. This time, they wanted us to develop a longer video that would merge animation with live-action interviews of community members who have experienced their impact.
The Solution
Throughout the animations, we incorporated simple pictograms with detailed clothing to depict people. We first used this style for Solid Ground’s initial fundraising video in 2013, and felt that carrying it over to this video would not only pull the brand forward, but would also pair well with live action. The result was a video that combined emotional appeal with compelling stats about the families they have helped and the impact of the organization. Like the first motion graphic, this video was developed as part of our commitment to nonprofits, in which we donate a portion of our services at no charge. With each work we have created for Solid Ground, they saw an increase in much-needed donations they use to help improve our local community.
