Infographic: Fortune Brands Fortunate Giving Program

blue and white infographic design with illustrations

    The Client Goal

Home and security products company Fortune Brands, or FBHS, approached us in late 2016 with the goal of showcasing everything they do to give back to the community in a single infographic. They already knew that a high-quality design would make all the difference, and would showcase their brand in the best possible light. But they wanted help crafting the narrative of their work into a single, cohesive whole, and minimizing the text so that the visuals would have more room to do the talking.

    The Solution

Communicating with the client every step of the way is crucial to our process, and in this case, that meant clearly explaining not only what edits we’d like to make to the content, but why. We collaborated with FBHS to gain a deeper understanding of their community-involvement efforts before making suggestions as to how to rearrange their content. Likewise, we looked through our portfolio with FBHS to determine what types of design they liked and why. They were particularly inspired by an infographic we made about Whistler, British Columbia, which depicted one large scene drawn in line-art. Since we wanted to tell a single, overarching narrative about FBHS’s community work, it made sense to unite all their efforts into a single scene comprising the entirety of the infographic. The result is a bright, inspiring design with elements of fun and positivity in the illustrations, all of which reflect the tone of hope and community-mindedness that FBHS was aiming to achieve.
