The Client Goal
EPIX premiered The Wolf of Wall Street, Martin Scorsese’s highest-grossing film, before any other cable provider or video on-demand service. They came to us to create an eye-catching, over-the-top piece of visual communication promoting the film’s first television appearance. The “over-the-top” request was a nod to the film’s main character, whose expenditures make up the content of the design.
Since EPIX wanted something that would grab a viewer’s attention from the start, we created an illustration-heavy infographic design that put Jordan Belfort’s extreme spending on display. The illustration style, combined with a bold font and gritty pink background texture — a reference to the film’s infamous pink sheet stocks — depict a modern-retro theme to complement the film’s style.
