The Client Goal
Deloitte is a professional services firm with stakes in myriad industries and subjects. Their clout in the business world and their strong brand presence mean they need a clear visual identity with unwavering consistency, while also including fresh takes that fall within that identity. In their work in the financial sector, Deloitte needed a series of reports about the blockchain: a shared digital ledger of online financial transactions spanning banks, Bitcoin, and more. Blockchain is revolutionizing the financial industry, and its needs and challenges can change at a moment’s notice. To communicate the intricacies of this modern financial system without losing the audience’s attention, they knew that a visual component would be key for the reports, but still had a wealth of text-based information that could not be omitted.
Having worked with Deloitte on previous projects and established familiarity with their brand, we were able to establish upfront the expectations for how visual communication would be applied in the reports. Keeping the Deloitte brand at the forefront, we devised a ratio of critical copy to data visualization and iconography that a viewer could quickly parse, choosing their own level of involvement in the content. We also developed printable placemat versions of each report to be featured at conferences and shared with key contacts, as well as social media collateral to spread the word about the cutting-edge insights being shared in the report series. The result is a clean, balanced campaign that engages viewers at multiple levels and lives the Deloitte brand. The reports now live on Deloitte’s site and are each available for download there.
