The Client Goal
We were approached by Trupanion, a Seattle-based pet insurance provider for dogs and cats, to produce a design to coincide with Deaf Pet Awareness Week (the last week of September annually). Aimed at pet owners and veterinarians, the piece was intended to help remove the stigma around deaf pets as well as to position Trupanion as the expert on pet health and happiness.
The Solution
Trupanion asked for 2 deliverables: an 8.5″x11″ printout that could also live on the web and a small wallet insert illustrating several hand signals used in dog training. Since the infographic was not intended to be a branded piece, we had full creative freedom in terms of illustration style and use of color. We chose a more realistic illustration style to instill a sense of sentimentality in the viewer and kept the color palette simple to allow the illustrations to hold emphasis.
