The Client Goal
Carrington College had a unique request for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They wanted to acknowledge the great strides made possible by donations to breast cancer research, and then ask viewers to consider other cancers that aren’t getting as much attention. They needed to be very careful not to disparage the efforts and successes of breast cancer research foundations, but at the same time expose negative aspects of some organizations to help support the message that other causes still need support.
To meet Carrington’s goals, we needed to create a web-based infographic design that would cause people to stop, look, and think. Breast cancer awareness is a well-known topic and also a delicate one, so the content went through careful scrutiny to be sure we were preserving the educational integrity of the college in content and tone. In addition, the illustrations needed to emphasize some of the negative points without verging on bias. The resulting design kept a clean aesthetic with factual content and tone to accomplish these goals.
