Get ready, folks! It’s time again for the best startup event in Seattle. For the third consecutive year the GeekWire Awards will be taking place at the EMP Museum, located in the heart of Seattle. Celebrating the startup community in Seattle and surrounding Pacific Northwest, the GeekWire Awards is the event to be at this Thursday night.
One suggestion we have is to bring your business card. This event is the place to network with everyone in the startup community. One of Killer Infographics’ designers, Kevin, took home at least twenty business cards last year. Unbeknownst to Kevin is that all the cards came from recruiters trying to steal him away from us! On a serious note, the “who’s who” of startups will be in attendance, so bring plenty of cards and do not be bashful about striking up a conversation with anyone.
For the Killer Infographics crew, the GeekWire Awards is an event we all look forward to. Last year we took home the prize for the Geekiest Office. This award was the crowning jewel of all the hard work we put into geeking out our new office only six months prior to the event. We were so proud to show off our office that we even wrote and produced a rap video, “A Geeky Day in the Killa Crib,” for GeekWire readers to view before voting on our category.
In addition to winning the Geekiest Office, we produced the event’s opening video, “Adventure of the Startup Kid,” which set fire to the bigger-than-life HD LED screen inside the EMP. GeekWire came to us with the original idea of paying homage Seattle’s startup community and old-school video games. Needless to say, our animators were elated to work on the project, taking the video in as a labor of love that set the mood for the night’s festivities.
This year we are proud to be a supporting sponsor of the event yet again. While we cannot exactly say what we have planned, we can promise the attendees will be blown away by the animation! Make sure to come and talk to the Killer Infographics team. We are happy to answer any questions and even jump in front of the camera in the photo booth. You will be able to recognize the team by this logo on our t-shirts.
